FIEROGLOW SAFETY PROTOCOLS
Status: MANDATORY READING
Applies To: All High-Voltage TICP and Class-E Driver Systems
1. THE CORE PRINCIPLE
"Respect the Physics." FieroGlow apparatus are not consumer light bulbs. They are open-air scientific instruments that generate high-voltage plasma at radio frequencies. They are safe when treated with respect, and dangerous when treated with negligence. You are the operator. You hold the fire.
2. ELECTRICAL SAFETY (High Voltage & RF)
The Hazard: Our drivers utilize Class-E Resonant Circuits that generate high-voltage, high-frequency electricity. Technically Class-E Driven High-Frequency Solid State Tesla Coils (HFSSTC) - A Tesla Coil is the Transmission and the Class-E Circuit is the Engine.
The "Skin Effect": Because the current oscillates at Radio Frequencies (RF), it tends to flow over the surface of conductive materials (including skin) rather than through them. While this reduces the risk of cardiac arrest compared to mains electricity, it significantly increases the risk of RF Burns.
The Rule: NEVER touch the bare unshielded discharge coil, circuitry or electrodes while the device is powered on.
The Radius: Keep a "Respect Radius" of 2-3 inches from the coil during operation to prevent capacitive coupling (shock) to your fingers.
3. THERMAL SAFETY (The Heat)
The Hazard: Plasma is hot. The ionization process generates significant heat within the glass envelope. Surface temperatures can exceed 140°F (60°C) within minutes.
THERMAL HAZARD: The glass surface may exceed 140°F (60°C). Use thermal protection and only handle the glass and parts according to the following standards:
