FIEROGLOW LLC PLASMA PROJECTS

Project 04: Practical Plasma Effects Conceptualization for Major Motion Picture

Project 04: Practical Plasma Effects Conceptualization for Major Motion Picture

The Mission: To design, engineer, and conceptualize a fully independent, battery-powered practical plasma prop—produced in triplicate—for the major Hollywood literary adaptation, Lizard Music (Amazon MGM).

The Project Syndicate

This conceptual phase brought together top-tier Hollywood art direction and elite Russian-American plasma engineering to solve a notoriously difficult visual effects challenge: capturing authentic plasma physics on film without relying on CGI.

Production & Vision: United Artist - Amazon MGM Studios / Benny Safdie (Director)

Role: Project Visionary.

Contribution: Recognizing that computer-generated imagery cannot accurately replicate the complex, chaotic beauty of real plasma. Safdie sought out a practical, in-camera effect inspired by the "Zerg halo" and specific tungsten carbide flame designs for a hero’s sidekick prop.

Art Direction: Kris Peck & Konstantin Sumtsev

Role: Hollywood Art Directors.

Contribution: Leading the visual and practical integration of the prop for the August 2026 shooting schedule, emphasizing a strong preference for hand-drafted, practical aesthetics over digital creation.

Hardware Inspiration & Referral: Zerg Labs

Role: Original Design Inspiration.

Contribution: When approached by the production team, Zerg Labs officially recommended Jason Fiero and FieroGlow LLC as the sole domestic entity capable of executing this highly specialized build within the compressed pre-production timeframe.

Prop Engineering & Conceptualization: FieroGlow LLC (Jason Fiero)

Role: Lead Technical Consultant & Prop Engineer.

Contribution: Developed the technical roadmap and conceptual visual renderings for a self-contained, battery-powered Class E plasma system designed to survive the rigors of an active movie set in triplicate.

Validation & Project Legacy

While the production ultimately pivoted to an alternative design path due to the high-value price point required for bespoke, battery-driven plasma architecture, this engagement serves as a testament to FieroGlow’s industry standing. The consultation process validated that the highest echelons of the film industry recognize FieroGlow as the domestic nexus for practical, high-fidelity electrodeless plasma technology.

Conceptual Engineering Asset — Not for Production

The visual renderings and hardware schematics displayed above represent independent technical conceptualization by FieroGloW LLC for pitch and feasibility purposes only. These assets are not official production designs, are not affiliated with or endorsed by Amazon MGM Studios, and do not reflect the final visual effects or narrative elements of the motion picture.

Project 04: "The Prop That Never Was" – Practical Plasma for Major Motion Picture

The Mission: To conceptualize, engineer, and fabricate three identical, battery-powered "Companion Gateway Lanterns" for a critical nighttime greenhouse sequence in the Amazon MGM adaptation of Lizard Music, directed by Benny Safdie.

The Production Challenge

Director Benny Safdie—seeking a highly specific, practical in-camera lighting effect rather than relying on CGI—was inspired by the chaotic, high-frequency plasma halos seen at events like Burning Man. The production required a hero prop that could safely house a live plasma discharge, be carried by a 4'6" child actor (Hannah Jr.) on a night walk, and be delivered within a strict 3-to-4 week pre-production window.

Because FieroGloW held the only pre-fabricated, stabilized Tungsten-Carbide (WC) 1.0L flasks landed in the United States, we held the sole material monopoly capable of executing the director's vision on schedule.

The Project Syndicate & Hollywood Alignment

Production & Vision: Amazon MGM Studios / Benny Safdie (Director)

Seeking a "magic fantasy steampunk meets modern art-installation" aesthetic through motivated, practical lighting.

Hollywood Art Direction: Kris Peck & Konstantin Sumtsev

Leading the visual integration, ensuring the props looked authentic (weathered metal aesthetic) while maintaining absolute on-set safety for the actors.

Original Hardware & Referral: Zerg Labs

The originators of the Tungsten-Carbide plasma design. Upon being contacted by the studio, Zerg explicitly referred the Hollywood production team to Jason Fiero as the only domestic entity equipped to manage the rapid assembly.

Electrical Engineering & Fabrication: Edwin Chiu (Inception EV) & Nathan Benton - Edwin (bringing direct IMDb prop credit experience and Burning Man plasma halo pedigree) and Nathan (Southern California-based EE) were tapped to handle the custom Class E circuit architecture, physical fabrication, and dedicated on-set maintenance.

Lead Engineering & Project Catalyst: FieroGloW LLC (Jason Fiero)

Managed the overarching technical feasibility, logistics, and prop architecture.

The FieroGloW Technical Solution

To meet the rigorous safety and aesthetic demands of a live movie set, FieroGloW designed a multi-tiered prop package budgeted in the $60,000 range:

The Hero Props: Downsizing from a 3L to a 1.0L toroidal Zerg flask to perfectly fit the young lead actress's frame.

Safe Housing: The raw plasma glass and high-frequency Class E circuitry would be housed within a high-strength, insulated internal polymer core, clad in a distressed metal shell to eliminate electrical exposure risks.

The "Stunt" Tier: Identical precision-machined housings integrated with flicker-matched rechargeable LED systems to allow for heavy action or stunt choreography without risking the high-vacuum glass.

The Legacy

While the studio ultimately pivoted to an alternative lighting direction due to the high-value budget required for bespoke, battery-driven plasma architecture, this rapid-response conceptualization proved a vital point: When the highest echelons of Hollywood require authentic, practical electrodeless plasma effects on an impossible deadline, FieroGloW is the first and only call.

SAFETY  & REGULATORY DISCLAIMER

Not a Consumer Toy: FieroGlow apparatus are classified as High-Voltage Scientific Display Devices intended for educational, artistic, and demonstration use only. They are not standard consumer luminaires.

RF Interference: These devices utilize Toroidal Inductively Coupled Plasma (TICP) technology which operates at radio frequencies. While shielded, they may generate RF interference in strict accordance with the laws of physics. Use away from sensitive medical equipment or unshielded electronics.

Thermal Warning: Glass surfaces may reach temperatures exceeding 140°F (60°C) during prolonged operation. Always use the provided FieroGlow Thermal Wool Interface or approved insulated gloves, safety handling equipment & bases. Never touch the unshielded discharge coils and follow glass contact safety  while active.

Modification: Opening the base or altering the driver circuit voids all safety certifications and may present an electrical shock hazard.

Optical Safety: Respect the Photon. While most noble gases (Krypton, Argon) are soft on the eyes, our Metal Halide and High-Energy Salt flasks are different. They produce High-Intensity Discharge (HID) flares that can temporarily blind or fatigue the naked eye.
